A.I. Site Update

3/4/2013

Been away for awhile. Life getting in the way again.  I've decided to abandon the Livestream platform for the web clips.  They keep deleting my content.  I've opted for the Youtube platform and have since migrated the A.I. content to Youtube and set up an A.I. channel there.

I've also updated the calendar and was researching a way to get a Pinterest board to feed a slideshow in Weebly. Not available yet.

I've also re-engaged the SARUG blog on Wordpress and since moving to GLHN have been exposed to the nuances of Linked Files with Revit and all the pitfalls they bring.  I'll be posting updates to the SARUG blog on this topic.

I need to make a push on getting content up on creating a template.  Since I'm reviewing the templates at GLHN and helping them structure their Revit Library, hopefully I can parallel that work with some specific content here on A.I.

A.I. Site Development Update

The Source page / Humor heading received a link to Mr. Glasses a spoof on being an architect.  Also a new heading "Hot Topics" with links to two pieces on the Commentary page was added.

The Communications Tab / Commentary page was updated with the 2011 AU Keynote Address, which has some enlightening perspectives on where technology is taking our industry.

The Technology tab was updated with a clip from the 2011 AU Gallery Tour and productivity software links.

A.I. Site Development Update

Continuing to make progress on the web site.

I was able to link a file download to the A.I. dropbox without having to invite the viewers to dropbox.  This greatly simplifies access to downloadable files.  Since the test file was a Revit family I spent some time flushing out the Revit families page.  Of course that lead to the need to create a Livestream clip on how to use the ADA door family so that link accompanies the family download link now.

I also managed to separate the A.I. facebook page from my personal FB account so Arch Intel now stands apart as a separate FB account with it's own page.  Which is nice since it separates the family chatter from the informational nature of the A.I./F.B. ..  I also managed to create a link between the A.I. Pinterest board and the A.I. / F.B. page so you can now see all the various building pictures I've collected over the past 3 months.  Some very nice shots there.

We had a great presentation at our SARUG meeting by a good friend of mine, Steven Shell, on Revit graphics.  We tried to record the presentation but we had a technical error.  So I'm hoping he will do a studio session so I can get a clean record and hopefully get it onto this site.

I'm Back!!!!

Been away from the site for awhile and I recently re-engaged on 07.31.12  The problem being a busy summer at work, a bad case of pinterest-citus (that I caught from my daughters) and that proverbial propensity architects have for procrastinating, not to mention the overuse of polysyllabic words in succession.

I think the pinterest-citus fever has broken and I'm winding up the summer school projects at work. So I'm back for awhile until another distraction comes along..... SQUIRREL!!!!

This site is currently on the fast track as I have a May 30th unofficial unveil to the informal development team of  Ms. Schwarz and Mr. Reece who will be conducting user trials and providing critical feedback.  This summer will be the primary development period with a potential limited launch to the C.A.L.A. faculty and students at the University of Arizona this fall.  I'm projecting site development will continue until June of 2013 during which I'm looking to expand the professional development team.  At that point we'll determine an appropriate notification date to the academic institutions with architectural programs, provided the (wild)cat doesn't get out of the bag before then.
